I hope each of you had a fabulous Thanksgiving Day wherever you were and whoever you were with. I certainly enjoyed the day and had my fill of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and pie. I opted to skip any sort of Black Friday shopping to stay at home and start getting in full Christmas mode! I planned on decorating Christmas Tree #2 yesterday before dinner (the one you saw here), but decided to be lazy instead. So I may attempt to make some progress on that today.
However, while the Christmas tree isn’t decorated yet, I did work on a couple fun crafts.
I assume many of you have heard of Stampin’ Up, right? If you haven’t, they have an amazing online catalog filled to the brim with craft supplies. I’m especially loving their holiday catalog. I had a chance to play around with a few of their kits and wanted to share my creations with you.
First up, I used their Build a Banner Kit as well as their Christmas Banner Accessory Kit. It’s been a while since I actually sat down and crafted like this. As you can see from my workspace, I really got into it.
What I love about these kits is that they give you all of the tools you need to create some super cute and special crafts, but still allow you the flexibility to make it however you want to suit your decor or home.
Simply by changing colors, papers, or ribbons, you can have a completely individual look.
I started off by painting my banner using the stencils and spritzers in the kit. Once everything was dry, I traced on letters with a gold marker to spell out “joy.” I then had fun with the accessory kit to give this banner a seasonal feel.
Pretty much everything I needed to create four really pretty rosettes was in the kit. Again, I had fun coming up with my own designs.
To give the finished banner a really bold look, I opted to use a red ribbon that I had instead of the twine that was included in the kit. As you can see, this tied it all together and made it work perfectly in my space.
Super cute, right?
For my next craft, I made some gift tags. I absolutely love wrapping Christmas presents. I’m always on the hunt for ideas to make my packages unique and personal. Whether it’s with a cool paper, a fun ribbon, or special gift tags, I like to make the wrapping something special.
Starting off with the Stamp a Tag Kit, I created some fun gift tags.
Again, it’s great that this kit comes with all the tools you need, but gives you lots of creative freedom.
I used a few of the stamps that were provided and added some washi tape to get my tags going.
I then used this other fun stamp, full of holiday sayings, for some added personality. I even cut out a few extra photos I had with this amazing punch. I figured why write, “to and from” when I could just put the person’s picture on the package.
In under half an hour, I had a dozen adorable tags ready for tying on packages.
So much cuter and more meaningful than most store-brought tags, right?
Now that I’ve had some fun, I’m off to complete a few more projects on my Christmas to-do list. I hope you liked my little holiday crafts! See you back here tomorrow!
