Today, I just wanted to pop in and and share a super simple and fun decorating idea.
When I had my little gift shoppe, I had four brass sign holders which I used for various purposes. I always really liked the holders, so when I closed the business, they were one of the things I kept. I was staring at them the other day thinking of ways I could use them. I got the idea to display some of my favorite Instagrams in them. Too cute, right?
In case you didn’t know, there are a bunch of places online that will print photos from your Instragram feed. I’ve used a site called Social Print Studio. You may remember that last year around the holidays they printed the pictures for my Instamas Tree. Their service is super quick and the quality is great. The photos have a matte finish, and I think that’s just perfect. Anyway, I ordered a pack of 20, stuck them in my sign holders and voila! Now the holders have a new life and lots of personality. Plus, I love the fact that they are so easy to change out. I can switch photos to suit my mood, the occasion, or whatever.
I’m sorry that I don’t have a source for these brass sign holders. However, if you are the crafty type, I’m sure you can create a DIY version. (In fact, I’m trying to come up with an idea of my own. Hopefully, I can figure something out soon. Stay tuned.) Or you can keep an eye out when you’re out thrifting or antiquing. I also noticed that CB2 has something similar in their Novogratz collection. I ordered a set, so I’ll let you know how they work out.
